It's in the running for the Toronto film festival.

An adaptation of Julia Leigh‘s novel of the same name, this might not be to everyones taste but it's piqued my interest a lot as I was a bit of a nature/discovery channel geek in my younger years. The Tasmanian Tiger is one of those things that always intrigued me because they just looked awesome and the stories about them were terrifying. The trailer shows some epic scenery of Tasmania. I think this would look amazing on an IMAX screen but I'll settle for it in HD at some point.

In fairness, Willem Defoe with his characteristic grimace and intensity could probably make hunting for a rabid donkey in the jungle a great movie, but I think the scenery and the fact he's hunting the legendary Tasmanian Tiger could make for something quite special. I can't wait to see more trailers of this.
