De Laurentiis really is a nut-job.
Napoli President Aurelio De Laurentiis furiously stormed out of the Serie A draw. “I am ashamed to be Italian! I’m going back to cinema.”
The patron had hoped his team would not have difficult fixtures close to the Champions League games. After only a few fixtures had been revealed by the computer, De Laurentiis reacted very angrily.

He swore at the gathered Serie A club Presidents, FIGC members and media in the Lega hall as he walked away.

“It’s all been mapped out against us,” he blasted. “Enough is enough, I’m going back to cinema.

“I’m ashamed to be Italian! I want to change citizenship!”

Napoli will face Milan in Week 3, which is just four days after their Champions League debut.

They’ll also face Inter in Week 6, only three days after the second round of the group phase.

De Laurentiis has long been a vocal critic of the football world, having taken over Napoli in Serie C after their bankruptcy.

He is most famous as part of one of the world’s biggest movie producer dynasties.

In a truly bizarre detail, it's reported De Laurentiis was so eager to get away from the Lega hall that he asked for a lift from a passing teenager on a scooter.
I wonder if he realises that the other CL teams have tough games around their CL games too.

Having seen Udinese against Arsenal, I reckon I'll be watching them quite closely this season. Play some excellent football it seems.

Heard rave reviews about them last season but never once watched them. Game against Juventus on the opening day should be decent.

They've lost 3 important players unfortunately in Alexis, Inler and Zapata. Hopefully Di Natale can keep his previous seasons goalscoring form going.

If they lose against Arsenal, do they go into the Europa group stage? If they do, that'll hurt their Serie A form. They haven't got the squad for all those games. Especially after losing 3 of their best players.

Between himself and Zamparini, the legacy of Volcanic Presidents in Serie A is still intact!

I was in Napoli when De Laurentis came out with this outburtst and everyone there said the same. Hardly just a random scooter! A case of De Laurentis playing to the Napolitan audience.

I really hope they do well this season, and i think they can really challenge for the Scudetto. Unlike Udinese who have lost three key players, Napoli have managed to keep Cavani, Hamsik and Levezzi. And they've nicked Inler from Udinese of course, which is a huge coup! Not to mention Alberto Rosati from Lecce, possibly the best keeper after Buffon last season. He will provide serious competion for De Sanctis between the sticks.

Check out his performance against Mallorca this week...some of his saves were outrageous!

Anyone know anything about Iago Falque from Juve who's with spurs on loan at the moment?
