Hi now I dont know if this should go into the relationship issues thread or the personal issues thread, plus I dont think I have ever seen a singles thread in Boards.ie, but Ill start the ball rolling.

Im a traditional musician (Galway city based), music lover in general and unemployed graduate journalist who has been single for quite a while now, Im 46 years of age and Im reasonably attractive. I have been in two relationships in my life, one in the late 1980s and one in the mid 1990s so that is quite a stretch of time since. Would like to find a female partner who likes going about the traditional session scene in Galway and also likes going to the odd gig and music festival.

Having been to a few rock and electronic festivals this summer, I increasingly notice that there is more couples in attendance than single girls floating about which breaks my heart. Some of my mates would go to the odd festival but most of the time I go to them alone, its usually the case of a large group of friends or couples you find at festivals, so sometimes its hard to socalise or meet people proper. Of course I still go and enjoy myself and make some new friends but there is never just a way to work out if some girls are actually single or wether you might recieve a black eye from a fellah for enquiring if a girl who is taken is single.

If you want to get into it, you got to get out of it. (Hawkwind 1982)
