I think this looks hilarious. Peter Dinklage is a legend.

I think this looks quality, a bit out there but looks funny all the same.

From that trailer I don't have high hopes for this. Looks like a straight to dvd flick! Also it may fall to the Summer Glau-effect.....you know it bombing and not getting a sequel. :pac:

I did like the "lightning bolt" nod though. (see below).

    Larpers - ok.
Some hot larpers - mm, better.
Larpers, including a dwarf*, and a hot larper get sent back in time to a real larping world and have to battle evil.

Oh dear oh dear oh dear. So basically the plot from Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtle 3 then, but with larpers.

That said, If it manages to take the absolute utter piss out of its self it could be ok.

    <Contraversial opinion>All dwarves look the same to me</Contraversial opinion>

Peter Dinklage wasn't in In Bruges. :)

    This guy was.

Think you got a few points wrong, it's Peter Dinklage and not the dwarf from In Bruges and the script has them raise up a sucubus not travel back in time.

It's one of the few films out this year I'm genuinely excited for, Lynch proved that he's a director to watch with Wrong Turn 2.

Hmm, dunno - seems to be trying a bit too hard to get 'nerdcred', and in my experience the vast majority of comedies that try to be nerdy fall flat (barring some exceptions like Futurama). Also, first half of the trailer suggests a better film than the second half where it all gets a bit, well, crappy.

Summer Glau is always good though, and brief clips suggest they made go 'R' with style, so we'll see. Can't say I'm too enthused, though.

The first half does look good. and then the second part when they go back in time does look kind of crappy, with only one bad guy.

The cast alone seems awesome to me Peter Dinklage, Ryan Kwanten, Jimmi Simpson, Steve Zahn, Danny Pudi and as mentioned above Summer Glau

Yeah the whole 'accidentally summoning demon/monster/whatever' angle always reeks of cheapness and laziness to me (see also: My Name is Bruce). Just doesn't appeal to me at all - Evil Dead got it right, stop trying to copy!

Also, I hate the title of this :pac: Totally going to judge a book by its cover :P

Am I the only one who though Summer Glau was something that happens when summer blockbusters flop and dont get sequels?

I only just now realised she is an actress.

Dude do yourself a favour and go watch Firefly.

Knight of Badassdom looks fun, it's a snarky movie about american larp culture which is pretty big in the USA.

Seen it, it was alright. I just dont retain the names of people in things. I have seen the West wing about 40 times now, but would have difficulty naming the main characters' actors. Martin Sheen, John Spencer, Alison Janney, er... thats it.

I know all about larping, I have friends who do it, and its pretty big in Ireland too tbh, and that in itself could make a funny movie, but adding the go back in time/sucked into an alternative world thing... Its been done. Its basically a larping version of Galaxy Quest. A load of amateurs now have to do the real thing in a real situation with hilarious results. I hope im wrong.

There is no time travel involved in the film, the characters sccidently summon a sucubus. From people I know who have seen parts of the film it's entertaining, light hearted and humorous and celebrates larding rather than lampooning it for a few easy gags.

Janel Moloney, Rob Lowe, Bradley Whitford, Stockard Channing, Richard Schiff, Alan Alda, Jimmy Smits to name but the 'mains' - but then I am cheating because I'm engrossed in series six at the moment :P

Speaking of Summer Glau though, she's cool and all but where's Jewel Staite, the real nerd queen of Firefly / Serenity?

Now you mention it I recall most of the names and know which is which, and Im currently on Season 3 again ;)

Also Lisa Edelstein was in season one, but the only reason I know that is because I probably typed her name into google some time looking for pictures, and was delighted to see her in House.

A trailer was shown during the panel at San Diego Comic Con 2011

Right yeah... and what? You're a postcount++ master, seriously!

What's your opinion on the trailer? Look good? Look ****? Epic lulz? Are you a bot? You start tons of these thread with links to other sites or an imdb page or a youtube video and not much else. Are you too busy aggregating movie/tv news from other sites to actually contribute or what? I reckon I'll start doing this for the craic. But here, I'll show you how it's done and maybe you can give it a shot with all of your other threads.

I think this looks decent and hopefully doesn't go the ****e route that is "Your Highness" (yes, I know that is ACTUALLY set in a medieval timeline). I think the trailer is fairly good with a couple of laughs but I'm a bit worried about them stretching this out into a full movie. It already seems samey in parts and some of the jokes are a little overly geeky. I know that's their target audience, but come on! But I'd like to see another trailer or 2 (I await response from JP Liz with same) before I make up my mind.

THis is true, the best bits of the trailer all seem to be before the Succubus shows up. I'd much rather see a comedy about a bunch of Larpers than throwing a real demon into the mix.

Speaking of Summer Glau though, she's cool and all but where's Jewel Staite, the real nerd queen of Firefly / Serenity?

She's locked in my cellar :pac:
