Thinking of buying this the weekend (they have it Tescos Naas) I heard it's not great just made on sugar as advised on the tin.
Anyone have any experience with it or recomendations to make it better. At the moment I have somme saaz hops in the freezer and about 500g of brewing sugar spare.
I could prob. pick up some malt if needed.
Or will I just stump up for a better kit.

    Thanks

You could use either spraymalt or malt extract instead of using sugar when you ferment it. They would improve the quality of the kit or you could try a beer enhancher they normally aren't as expensive as they are half brewing sugar half spraymalt. Just don't use regular sugar with it, its ment to be quite nice even with just brewing sugar as long as you give it enough time in the bottle to mature.

Thanks for the info. I made up about one litre of saaz hop tea, strained it in and used 500g of brewing sugar and 700g of barley malt extract. Added a further two litres of boiled water and stirred till dissolved
    Gravity of 1046 at 18 C.
I might dry hop it after a week.
