In a bit of a fix...broke the shaft of my 7 iron at the weekend.. Collission with a tree.. It's a callaway diablo forged with the Nippon Uniflex shaft. Been to two pro shops in the Kerry Limerick area and both have said it would need to go back to callaway and I could be waiting a month. Captains prize on Sun in Kerry and won't be back in Dublin to mcguirks where I bought it. On route to Galway now and back south on Sunday. An ideas where I could leave the club or if it can be done and in fact has to go to back to the factory. I would have thought any club pro worth his salt could replace a steel shaft?

I had a similar issue with my Taylormade six iron and a tree a couple of months ago. I phoned around a few places in Dublin and surrounding areas and in the end I had to send it back. Took about three weeks.

After this, I was telling a pro in a club shop and he said that because it was a six iron (most demo irons are six or seven), it is likely that there would be a fitting centre or pro shop somewhere who would have the same shaft in stock on a demo club. He suggested that if it happened again, phone around a few pro shops or fitting centres and I would probably find one who would have one in stock and swap it out for me.
