Hi, you can't tranfer your insurance onto a car that already has a policy, you will just have to cancel your existing policy when you get rid of your old car and take out a new one when you get your new car.

In the meantime, you can add yourself as a named driver to your girlfriend's policy which will allow you to drive her car in the meantime.

    Hope this helps :)

If you are replacing the vehicle shortly then dont cancel the policy. You wont earn your full NCB for the year served if you do. You can suspend the policy and variant on the amount of time that elapses between that and you getting your new car you could get a few bob back too !

To temprarily cover yourself on your girlfriends vehicle then get added as a named driver.

Point to note for future reference. If you are over 25 and have your own policy and you "better half" has one too then it could work out cheaper if you name each other on your own policies anyway.

Wont go into the specifics of why but it's all above board. You just usually have to live with them too.
