I was down with the CWO yesterday applying for an Exceptional needs payments as i recently lost my job and have to get some new baby stuff. She gave me a SWA form to fill out and told me to get quotes for a buggy, etc.

I was wondering how long do these claims take to go through? What can I use as a quote? I presume I need to bring something as proof and can't just tell them how much it is.

ok did you have the baby or are you having the baby. the thing is if you are having the baby did you not put money aside like the rest of us to buy the stuff and if not why not??????? you wont get anything til the baby is born except maternity grant.

you need to go to shops and get quotes. they might call to see if you have the stuff already and request bank statements to see if you have the money to pay for them yourself and of course the question where is the father of the child and why isnt he helping to pay for the stuff.

think the location of the father is exactly none of your business maryk

For some strange reason this thread is not at all helpful to the op.

You should get written quotes on headed paper signed by the shop staff.Photo copy them in case they get lost ect.
