SWA rent supplement

I recently received SWA due to the backlog in processing my JSA claim. I went to see my CWO after being told to by everyone I spoke to in the Social Welfare office. I've been living back home with my parents since April and while I contribute to the household as much as I can, I don;t pay rent. Went to CWO in May, all this would have been on my form at the time.

Got a form in the post this week from CWO called "Supplementary Welfare Allowance Rent Supplement Review (SWA 3A-09/2009)". It basically says that my eligibility to receive rent supplement is now due for review, and to get my landlord to fill out the second bit of the form. I DONT HAVE A LANDLORD ANYMORE!!!! And rent was never the issue when I went to see the CWO, it was because it had taken so long to sort out my JSA!

Is this a routine form or (as I think) was it just sent to the wrong person??? Tried ringing CWO by the way, no answer. If it's a routine form I'll send it back asap, but what's the point if I've no landlord????

Did you tell the CWO in may that you were no longer in private rented accomodation? If so, if you were getting rent supplement, the rent supplement should have stopped?
If the answer is yes, just send the form back to the CWO with a note attached reminding him/her that you are no longer in receipt of rent supplement.
if the answer is no you will have to arrange to meet the CWO to sort things out.

Yes, I was living with my parents then, and not paying rent. All this would have been on the form I filled out (it asked about other people in the house and their earnings etc). I assumed the money I did receive was nothing to do with rent???? i.e. it was in lieu of JSA. Once my means test was done this SWA stopped, and I received JSA instead. The amount from CWO was €186 per week, sent out by cheque. The ref number on the counterfoil was #55 Basic SWA.

I'm tempted to just return the form with a letter stating my details as this makes no sense whatsoever. I don;t want to ignore the form, but I genuinely can't fill out anything on it! Oh and I have to tell them if I'm still on the Housing list. I never signed up/wanted to be on this list!

Sounds like a mistake, the €186 that you getting was a basic payment that u were getting while waiting on JSA, and the code on your counterfoil confirms this.. so it wouldn't have been Rent allowance.. I'd call again in the morning and tell them u got it in error
