I broke a little plastic ball off my mirror adjuster so I got a replacement mirror second hand.. This mirror also had the motorised adjustor, what it didn’t have was the motorised retractor that my Type R came with as standard over it being a Type Rx
So I had to transplant that motor into my own. This guide will show you the steps I took. This will also allow you to replace just a broken mirror.
    Duration: 2 hours
    Tools Required:
    1 Philips Screwdriver
    1 Flat head Screwdriver
    1 Soldiering Iron and Soldier
    1 8mm ring spanner
    1 snips
    1 roll of insulating tape

    Lets begin:
    1. Remove the small black triangle at the base of the mirror inside the car by applying a small amount of force. This will reveal three 8mm nuts and a block connector

    2. Disconnect the block connector and gently remove the 8mm nuts, this will release the mirror to be removed from the outside

    3. Using a pliers holding the small ball and socket shafts on one side, gently pry the mirror and its backing plate off with your hands.

    4. With the unit removed you can now see the difference between my motor unit and the one I got (mine is at the top showing the larger black motor)

    5. Using a Philips screw driver remove the 4 no. Screws holding the front surround to the back.
    6. You should then be left with something that resembles this:

    7. Remove the 3 number screws holding the motor to the back surround and turn over the unit and undo the 3 number screws holding the motor to the baseplate.

    8. Here is the difference between my motor unit and the one i got in more detail with the covers off.

Here you can see clearly one has only an adjustment and the other has both the adjustment and then retractor motor.

    9. Remove the black shroud, this exposes the motor underneath. Snip the Yellow and Black wires behind the adjustment motor.

    10. Looking at the baseplate im transferring this motor into, you can clearly see Honda used the same base for both as the holes and tubes are there in the one without the retractor motor

    11. Snip the yellow and black wires, remove the spring to leave free to transplant the motor.
    12. You will notice the pictures above show the one with the motor has two sheathed wires and the one without has only one coming up through the spring.

    13. Undo the two small Philips screws and you can then dissemble the motor to transplant into the new plate.

    14. Now that everything is transplanted over, feed the wire back up through the spring, replace the black cover over the motor unit.
    15. Join the black wires behind the mirror adjustor motor and then join the yellow wires. One of the yellow wires has a black tracer to stop you mixing the right and left up.

    16. Take your soldiering iron and soldier all the joints neatly. Mine is a portable gas type one which is very handy.

    And at the other side

    17. When you are done, make sure to insulate the wires with either heat shrink wrap or else insulating tape.
    18. Reconnect the motor to the surround and then the surround to the baseplate and the baseplate to the car by going from steps 7 to 1

Hope this helps someone in the future.
