cream quartz counter

Hi. I'm hoping this is the right place for this! We have recently moved in to our new build - thought we'd never get here - but already I have noticed a problem with our cream quartz worktop!! The guy who fit it said to just use water to clean it (I wasn't there to question this!) but it's really easy to stain. Had left a tea pot on it for literally a couple of hours one day and found it really hard to get the tea stain off it. At the moment I'm using dettol wipes to clean it as I'm afraid that whatever I use might damage it. Surely there must be something I can use on it to make life a bit easier. Am half afraid to use the kitchen at this stage having spent a small fortune on the counter! Any suggestions or advice more than welcome.

    Thanks a million!
