You won't get a decent new bike for that money, but Halfords will have some crappy bikes that will meet your budget.

New... €500+. Thats a road bike as in a road racer. maybe €350 for a commuter tip about town kinda thing...

Try Spokes. Do some internet research first though

So you're obviously internet savvy enough to go find your answers elsewhere.

Entry level road bike minimum is a Giant Defy 4 for about 570. Halfords have a basic but functional Carrera TDF on their website for under 400, not sure if they can get it for you in the Waterford store. Failing that call into spokes, they often have secondhand machines, although they are usually around the 350-400 euro mark.

Apart from that, the only 200 euro road bike you are getting of any reasonable quality is either stolen or a complete fluke on donedeal or somewhere like that.

Yeah... my Brother picked up a nice giant SCR 3.0 for 275 on Donedeal. It's a great bike too. I have been looking ever since for the same kind of deal and cant get one. He was always a flukey fecker
