Is there any place in this country that caters for taller men?? I ll explain my predicament, Im heading 2 a wedding in a month or so and i am finding it impossible to find a shirt that fits properly, i take about 18.5-19 in the neck but find sleeves way too short, and if i go up in size, the shirt is like a bed sheet, the whole experience is very frustrating especially when dealing with poor customer service (a rant for another day!). Can anyone help?

Mr big in goatstown stock clothes for tall men, and if you get stuck there's jacamo.ie, although it's fairly expensive. Littlewoods.ie have a couple of bits as well, I can't link cos Im on my phone but just put the names into google and you'll get links. good luck!

Lewins do up to 38" sleeves. They might not keep them on the shelf but they will ship them in for you. Order them 4 at a time during the sales to get them at a good price. :)

I find Charles Tyrwhitt have a far better selection of 37 and 38 inch sleeve length shirts than Lewins. Charles Tyrwhitt also have a far superior slim fit range (mid section is taken in 2-3 inches which stops the baggy effect) and then they have a tailored range which is a lot slimmer from the armpits down!

I have no idea if they are any good but I heard this crowd advertising a sale on Galway Bay FM today.

Tyrwhitt shirts are cut too short in the body length. For larger framed men (or simply portly ones such as myself) the shirt is forever riding up out of your waitband and thats not a pretty sight.
Apart from that I agree that their shirts are lovely. I've always been smitten by the double button holed french cuffs, a feature harping back to much older days.

As for slimfit shirts - abominations IMO, irrespective of maker. No-one should ever be seen in one. A shirt should be loose around the body. I hold the same opinion about slimfit suits too. They make the wearer look like they are wearing a suit they borrowed from their younger- smaller brother.

Thanks for all the suggestions guys, very helpful!! In the end i went with Lewins and got myself 5 shirts for €130 (€12 extra for delivery). Got them in an 18" collar and a slim fit. Loads of length in the sleeves (THANK GOD!!!) and body, and they fit well on the body. Didn't realise they had a shop in Dublin, so no more Saturday afternoons of shopping for me any more!! :D
