Hello! Probably asked here a lot, but I need a good makeup remover for my face, I don't wear makeup every day and am looking for something affordable that removes all traces of makeup because no matter what I use to remove my makeup I end up getting blackheads and spots!!

Was just about to start the very same thread! Using Estee Lauder Double Wear foundation and CANNOT, no matter what cleanser I use, get it off!!! Any ideas out there?? Something relatively inexpensive would be a bonus!

I use Double Wear and find Garnier Fresh Essentials good for getting it off. I use a make up removal pad with it and then wash after. A wipe with a towel gets any bits you missed.

Someone suggested baby oil in another thread....I started using it there about 2 weeks ago and my skin is soooo clean and clear after it (and feels lighter if you get me?!)

I put a little on a makeup removal pad and give a little wipe and repeat until my face is clean. Then I take a wet facecloth and give me face a little scrub with it to take away the excess oil. Then I have a nice blank canvass to put my make up on in the morning.-

Oh deadly - I've got some baby oil and I'm going to try this tonight.

EDIT: I've just done this now, face nice and soft! Thanks for tip

Noooooooo baby oil is the devil :P its pure mineral oil so it cant be absorbed into the skin . It literally just sits on top of the skin thus making it apppear soft when in turn it actually clogs the pores causing spots and break outs . Im a heavy make up wearer too and dermalogica precleanse is my cult produt. Totally amazing .. takes all traces of make up off and helping to prevent and blockages in the pores by liquifing the sebum in the skin. Its brill :)

I broke out the first day or two with the baby oil..... then my skin calmed down.....I find it great and cheap as chips!!!

prolonged use can lead to adult acne its really not good for your skin , be careful :-/

Baby oil is idiotic, I'm sorry but you are asking for something to clean your skin and unclog your pores? The baby oil will just clog them back up, you might as well not wash your make-up off.

Honestly there's no real 'good' product for this in my experience. Any face wash you use normally is good enough.

I do a double cleanse with my cleanser, the first taking the makeup off and the second removing any traces and cleansing my skin. This works pretty well for me.

Got that advice from another thread here. I find Revlon photo ready is a bitch to get off....and it was doing the job
    ....may look elsewhere.

My skin looked and felt clean though..... :(

Only use baby oil to get off waterproof mascara NEVER for my face.

What I find good is to firstly use makeup removal wipes like simple, MAC or whatever brand you prefer and then to use a gentle face wash to get off the remaining makeup.

I've been using Boots essentials cleansing lotion and toner (blue bottles) for the last few weeks and find them great. My skin is so much better, used to use Clinique products but won't go back to them now, the cheaper alternative is much better!

Takes about 5-6 cottons pads to get all the double wear off but skin is so fresh afterwards!

You do know what mineral oil is right? It is produced as a byproduct of the distillation of gasoline from crude oil, it may work to get off the make-up but it's not helping your skin in the long term at all.

It's very hard for your skin to absorb and clogs your pores so much. I would really think twice before using it again. I'd say try one of these depending on your skin type:

They include citric acid that is very good to remove make-up and even stubborn tan. Plus the scrublet included gets a deep and easy clean.

I find myself the only way to properly get double wear off is using this in the shower:

    garnier-fresh-essentials-scrub.jpg

    Followed by this: 1288802600_Simple%20Kind%20To%20Skin%20Purifying%20Cleansing%20Lotion-%20200ml_w170_h170.png

I love Double Wear but it can be a pain to get off at times.

Same here. Any exfoliating cleanser is perfect for this. I use a Neutrogena one.

Pond's Cold Cream is an amazing make up remover, I'm not too sure about a cleanser though. Some people swear by it and it has been around forever but it left a film on my skin (which did soak in) which I didn't like but after a while it wasn't there any more and I could put normal moisturiser on. I'm sure you could give your face a quick wash with regular face wash afterwards if you wanted that extra clean feeling. It really is great at getting all make up off though, even waterproof mascara came off easily! Cheap too, got it in Boots for about €6!

This is the one I use --> ponds_cold_cream_cleanser_softening_cream32717.jpg

I use Boots Traditional Skin Care cold cream. It's great for removing make-up and leaves your skin feeling really hydrated. It's cheap too-I can't remember the exact price but it was most definitely under a fiver.

For more "high-end" cleanser I really like Lancome Galatee Confort. It's great but pricey-around €30.

Make sure you cleanse your skin twice-the first time it will remove make-up, dirt, oil, etc. The second time it will actually cleanse :)

    Good luck!

I don't use DW but do use Revlon Colorstay. I find Shu Uemura cleansing oil the best for removing it, but the La Roche Posay Effeclar wash does a pretty good job as well. I use a facecloth/muslin after rinsing to make sure everything is off.

Can't believe i forgot to mention this! Another amazing and good for your skin way is to use a cleansing water. I got a sample of a Lancome one last year and it was amazing. I only used it on my eye makeup though and use the Lancome face wash for the rest of my face.

I hate the consistency and feel of using creamy cleanser on my skin so I always use a cleansing facewash to remove my make up.do ye think the fact I use water on my face so much is drying?i've been using the sanctuary facial cleanser (thanks to boots and the 7.50 vouchers!)also do you need to use a toner with a facewash?

clean and clear is quite good, you have to lookat wat your getting as they have a cream one aswell, which smells nasty and doesnt nothing, i use off your face soap and glory wipes for taking off the heavy stuff and no clogs allowed face wash

+1 on pre cleanse from dermalogica. It is great to remove makeup, dirt etc.. But if it is too pricey, i found soap and glory hot cloth fantastic. Boots sell it and they do sometimes deals.

I love precleanse! It leaves my skin so clean and clear I'd be confident enough to go make up free without looking like I'm half dead.
