Hi all i am looking to see if anyone knows of a private bus company in Croatia which does luxury buses from Split to Dubrovnik as we travelled on one of the normal bus companies from Dubrovnik to Split and was a nightmare.

Just something nice and comfortable would be good to make the long journey easier.

Chris, I would imagine your best bet is to have a look at the forum on Trip Advisor for such a specific question.

We did the trip up the coast on this about 4 years ago, well worth it for the views. Don't know if that suits your plans though...

Why was the bus trip so bad? I am only 4 weeks bak from Croatia and went the opposite way i.e Dubrovnik to Split and the bus was great. It had aircon, spacious seats and was clean. Stops made every 2 hours or so for toilet breaks.
I did hear horror stories before but all the buses looked brand new now.

very windy roads and they detour to small villages wasting 40mins when no one is getting on or off!
i thought its fine really but i can see why people wouldnt like it

The bus was tortourous to be honest. We ended up in a thunder storm coming into Split last week which is grand but the bus basically fell apart, water leaking through a/c vents and all. Luggage storage underneath got flooded because the driver drove straight through a road covered in a few feet of water.

So basically bad bus and driver. Want better.

    Would you consider driving?

Doing that in a few weeks, landing at 11 am, collecting a car and 4 of use driving up the coast roads to Split. Its approx 150 miles and have put 6 hours aside for a comfortable driving stopping for lunch etc along the way.

If you go through the Hertz agent, they only charge €35 for one way charge for the car.

If you want to know more, PM me.
