    Hi all

My brother who 14 joined a golf club 2 miles from us for the rest of summer..Thing is he wants to cycle down as no car in our house during day..

Anyway just wondering what type golf bag would be recommended for him to buy that is light in particular. I have seen few but would like yer opinion..Any decent ones for sale at good price? Prices not really issue although under 130-40euro be preferred

    Thanks.

I don't really know as I haven't checked prices but I would look at any from Sun Mountain or Ogio. Also look at the Ping Hoofer.

Does he need lots of pockets for wet gear or just a simple basic light bag like the Ogio Sticks?

There are lots of good bags around and maybe there are some decent bargains around if you look.

I have one of these, TM MicroLite bag,

I was able to pick up my one for €50-odd from there, but they have sold out of that version. I use it for heading out in the evening. Fits a full set, plenty of pockets and very very light.

    Hi,

Maybe an option or not but could he not look at renting a locker in the golf club so he could leave the clubs in the golf club and not have to carry them on the bike to and from the course??

Cheers. Never heard of those brands but I will check them out..Been out of the game myself for about 10 years and really only getting back into it in last year but will check those out.. As for pockets I dont think he needs that many if there are plenty that's fine once bag is light...

Excellent, again I will look into these bags they seem pretty decent.

I am afraid no lockers down there, but there is safe place to put the bike and he very fit lad and does lot cycling and its in pretty safe road so he lucky in that sense. It would only take him 10 minutes or so although it would have been great if lockers were there alright.

Ping 4under is the bag for your brother. They are way lighter than a hoofer and have ample pockets. Its the only bag for him.

I have one, it has a rain hood and a water bottle pocket, a pocket for valuables and your standard pocket for clothes and a ball pocket. It is a great bag and thats coming from a man with a tour bag and a ping moonlite pencil bag!

There is no shortlist mate, thats the bag for your brother. It has self adjusting straps like the hoofer so I can carry it and then give it to you and it will adjust to your body without any messing with straps. It's the only job. A few juniors in my club have tried it and thought it was excellent and it always sits on your back in a manner that makes it lighter than the actual weight it is.
