    Hey guys,

Basically, T bought this magnet things which is designed to hold ipods and phones to the dashboard of your car, used it for a day, now my ipod wont work.

Its an 80g ipod classic... like it still comes on and work perfectly that way, it just wont play any music, it just skips through the songs..

You guys think its dead forever? I recently had to have my pc wiped, so all our music is gone too... 5 or 6 years worth!

Is there anything that can be done???

If the magnet is strong enough it could have damaged the hard drive. Non-classic iPods would probably survive next to a magnet.

Connect to to a PC and see off you can access the music from there.

ipod classic's use regular hard drives.
All other ipod's use flash memory.

Sorry to be the bearer of bad news but you've probably borked it

edit: Just saw you can still access the music on the computer. I sometimes use http://www.getsharepod.com/ to get music off an ipod. Good luck with the recovery
