What do you guys think? These are savings i put aside for a postgrad but due to illness i wont need it for another year, stick it in AIB's online 7 day notice or a punt at prize bonds?

I thought prize bonds were 2 something % return? AIB seems the better choice.

There's a unsubstantiated rumor going around here that prize bonds win more often in the 1st year of buying them, likely winning amount is 75 Euro, if your lucky.

    Assuming the postgrad costs 7k @ 3.2% that's a return of 224 euro.

Deposit seems to be the better option.

Buy PrizeBonds for a year then sell them and put the money on deposit.

Minus DIRT of 27%, the return on 5.5K is 128.48
