Glasses suggestions?

I'm buying new glasses. I'd like something that has some character and don't look bland and boring. But at the same time I don't want to look like a fashion victim. Any ideas?

It's so hard to recommend glasses to people over the internet! So many things to consider - face shape, colouring, budget, and of course plain ol' personal preference.

I think the best thing to do is just go in and try on a load of pairs and see what suits you.

But for me, my favourite style would be a rather thick, tortoise shell frame, more rectangular than round.

Gucci do gorgeous glasses if you were able to spend a bit, my mam got a gorgeous pair in dark green.

As others have said, glasses are really personal - the fashionable choice is definitely not always the right one.

I recently got new ones and found this website helpful for choosing a style to suit me: http://www.eyefly.com/ I think they are US only but you can upload a pic of yourself and "try on" the frames. It's surprisingly good! :D
