    Hi All

As some of you know i have had a fried disc replaced and i want to use my time machine backup to restore some but not all my old system.

So i tried and it would not let me restore on the new drive, i have now booted up the snow leopard install disc and entered disc utilities and the restore has started.

But i cant select what i want to restore so its off restoring the whole thing.

Its currently 13% through and it says another 3 hours 15 minutes, if i stop now will it cause any damage to the new HD or the time machine HD?

Also if i do stop can someone let me know how i just restore what i want to.

    Thanks

if you want to restore just certain files then fine. but certain apps depends on the app.

sure stop it but you will need to reformat and reinstall. I find time machine restores slow and buggy and don't recommend them.
