luas to connolly, and dart to lansdowne road. it's around the corner from that station.

    How much is the dart?
    How often does it run?
Also how far is Ballsbridge Inn from the City centre?

145 to Nassau St. 4 or 7 from Nassau St. stops right outside the D4 hotel complex.

On Nassau st. the stops for each bus are right next to each other. Door to door in 30 mins or so.

I tried the irish rail website, i found it confusing.
All I asked were some simple questions.
There was no need to answer like that.
It is my first proper time to Dublin and on the dart.

Get the 145 bus from outside Heuston, get off on Donnybrook main st. at the junction of Herbert Park, walk up Herbert Park to the US Embassy, you'll see a chipper called the Embassy Grill facing you on the opposite side of the road, cross the road to this premises and turn left, walk 100m down that street (Pembroke Road) to the hotel which is on the right at the next junction.

Total walking distance to the hotel is 700m from the Herbert Park bus stop. If you get the Dart from Connolly to Lansdowne Road you'll still have to walk 300m to the hotel so for my money it's not worth the extra hassle of doing Luas + Dart when one bus will do the job at the inconvenience of having to walk an extra 400m.

If you lose your way, don't ask for the Ballsbridge Inn, ask for directions to the 'old Jurys hotel', most people in the area still know it by it's old name.

Get the Luas & DART. Far less potential for confusion.

Do you really think getting two different modes of transport for a first time visitor is easier than getting 1 bus from outside the train station he/she is arriving in is easier? They could end up in Tallaght or the Point if they go wrong on the Luas then get the Dart to Howth by mistake.

I really think the simplest is the 145 and a stroll.

I disagree. Getting a Luas and DART will also take longer, and is not as straightforward as it should be.

Coylemj's suggestion works. It's also a nice walk and is direct enough.

If the OP doesn't want to walk, then get the 145 from outside the door of Heuston and take it to D'Olier Street (the stop just after O'Connell Bridge). Then walk back to the stop on O'Connell Bridge (the stop is on the bridge) and take the 4 or 7 from here to Ballsbridge (D4 Hotels).

Yes, as unlike bus stops, the stations are clearly labelled.
