    Hi,

Looking to put up a small hayshed. Does anyone have a link to where I can find planning info?

All I have managed to find so far is that you don't need planning up to 200sqm if its within 100 yards of a farm yard, but this won't be.

It cant be within 10 metres of a public road or 100 metres of a domestic residence or public building if ya want to avoid having to get planning permission.
If ya building in an existing farmyard i think the overall farm building area cant exceed 200sq metres.

    Cheers for that,

Any idea where I'd get that in writing?

Follow this link. Not sure what your local authority is but the above one is for Limerick County Council. Most local authoritys have a list of exempted developments on their website.

Do you need planning permission also if you plan to refurbish an existing shed (i.e. take it down and build a new one in its place)?

Also, does anyone know if you need permission for resheeting an existing shed?

Best thing to do is to contact your Local Planning authority. If you are still in doubt after that as to whether you need planning you could always do a Section 5 Declaration. It is less complicated then a planning application and less drawings needed. The planning authority will then tell you for definite if it is exempt.
