Is it just me or does it sound a lot like The importance of being idle?

Exactly what I thought when I heard it. I wouldnt be too gushing about it as some have been today, but its a good song. Im not a huge fan of this sort of melody for Noel though, the kind of sing a long guitar that this and The Importance of Being Idle has.

Yep, they took the start of that, added a bit of a country and western sound to it and used a Kinks chorus.

Don't hear anything great here to be honest. Very stock.

Interested to hear what his stuff with Amorphous Androgynous will sound like though.

Bit of a mix of 'Get off your high horse lady' and 'Importance of being idle'. Don't really like it at the moment tbh, hopefully it will grow on me, I really want this album to be great.

Becuase for a lot of people (myself included) Oasis wre the first band that we really loved and were the ones who got us into music. Even if the album is awful, I'll still have a lot of affection for Noel.

Agreed Oasis were the first band that I was crazy about along with Blur. I will always have fond memories and respect for Def Maybe and Whats the Story.

However when I compare how Damon Albarn has morphed and explored his musical capabilities to what Noel has now released, Noel is still back in the oasis days unable to write something exciting or generally move with the times.

Was really hopeful that there would be something different with his new stuff, but alas, no.

Noel needs to write a few songs, but allow someone to take it over and take it to a new level.

I really want Noel to prove me wrong with his new gfon this but its been proved so many times to me that when artists go solo, its just not as good, just not the same.

Look at Paul Wellar, Ian Brown, Morissey, Suggs and Liam's Beady eye. They just don't do it for me whatsoever. I'm sure many people will disagree with me though.

so bland, absolutely no hooks whatsoever. still stuck in the oasis era that is post 98.

The lyric Sunsheeeine features heavily again. Good ole oasis or whatever

B-Side to the single was streamed today, "The Good Rebel"

Average enough. Another mention of 'sunshine' in the lyrics too lol I like the tune more than I do Noel's singing on it. I hate when Noel pads out his songs with multiple repeats of the same lyric.

Hey, thanks for the tip off, glad I heard it but you're right the song is very average, it's very bloated with nothing else to grab on to, this is my simple thinking about Oasis break up, I both love Noel and Beady Eye by the way but I'm quoting Radiohead okay, 2+2=5.
