    Hey everybody,

Just a quick question with regards to how much alcohol you can legally bring into ireland when abroad. I've heard various amounts and I just don't want to take a chance.

I am flying with ryanair and into Dublin t1, from Spain. If somebody could tell me how much I can bring back it would be really appreciated.

Of course the drink will be in my checked in baggage.

    Thanks,
    Guys and gals

    http://www.revenue.ie/en/customs/leaflets/pn1878.html

Information should all be in there.

It's worth noting that the limits mentioned by Revenue on that page are not actual EU limits. There is legally no limit to the amount of alcohol you may import tax-free for personal use.

The limits mentioned by revenue are what they consider the maximum that someone would bring in for personal use - i.e. if you bring in more than the limit, it is automatically assumed to be for commercial use, unless the traveller can convince Revenue otherwise.

At €20 per kg excess you better make sure to stay below the checked-in weight limit or what you save on the booze you'll more than pay back to Ryanair.

There is no limit as long as it's for personal use
Anything more than a carload might arise suspicions though

But would probably double Ryanair's annual profit!

The OP is bringing the booze back in checked-in bags on a Ryanair flight.
