Hey everyone, I'm in the Market for a new laptop and am hoping that someone out there can point me in the right direction.
I've a budget of about €500 and need it for music, movies and general use. I won't be using for gaming.
I've seen alot of offers out there but I'm not sure what would benefit me, for the use I need.
Also I've seen wndows 7 in many forms(starter,64 bit etc.) what's the difference.
    Thanks.

It would be worth making sure the laptop is compatible with a major linux distro is well! Always something to watch out for. Wifi and Wireless broadband can be an issue.
Starter has less features, not sure if it supports 64bit! Any decent laptop would be sold with Home Premium.
64 bit is the way a processor proccess information, if an OS and apps are compatible it can process info better. Older proccessors are 32 bit (you wont be paying €500 for one of em!)
If you are not gaming GPU probably wont be an issue, so I'd recommend an i5-430m + which has a small inbuilt GPU, enough for Compiz or Aero. That said you cant add a GPU to a laptop so if you might ever feel you need it, try and get a very good one
