    Some photos might help

I played it for the first time at the weekend and really enjoyed it. It's not easy for first time out because you quite often don't know what to hit (or where!). There was no course guide available - one of my group had an old one but the course had obviously been changed around so no use.
Be prepared to be blocked out by trees a bit if you're not on the correct line (or the correct distance). You won't always need driver from the tee (off the whites) but it's not clear even from overall yardages what you should hit.

Hopefully a few locals will guide you on here but it will be enjoyable anyway. Greens are good, fast enough and undulating.

thanks lads. if anybody else has any more nuggets please let me know.

I hope I drive it more accurate than this weekend otherwise it could be a long day by the sounds of it !!

As stated above, plenty of trees and line more important than distance. Played it recently. It is in very good condition. Greens fast and true. Theres a great little par 3 at 14 or 15 in a walled garden. Only about 120 yards. Elevated green, bunkers to the front and sides and the wall behind. One of my partners had to try a 'Jiminez' (without success). Lovely course!

Good track and accuracy is a must ..... I love that fact that the par 3s are not 200 yard slogs but much more skilful short holes. If your short game is in good shape you will score, enjoy it.

Our only issue when we play there is deciding between the fish n chips or steak for dinner ..... both excellent.

I am a member here. As the guys pointed out accuracy is where it's at. Place in fine nick at the minute also.

1st: par 4 stay on right hand side of fairway, bunkers on right of green for second shot.

2nd: par 5, again stay right possible to get there in two all about second shot.

3rd: par 3 uphill, o.b on right and greenside bunkers on left, tough hole

4th: par 4, blind drive but no trouble off tee if drive long gets passed trees, 2nd shot club longer than looks

5th: par 4 and all in front of you

6th: par 5 won't reach in two so drive left of fairway really opens up hole, tricky green

7th: par 5, very short water on left but can drive over that, your aim is just inside the bunkers on right will all kick down left definate birdie hole

8th: par 4 up the hill water on far left but reachable, driver not needed, anywhere up around 150 is fine but longer you go less water to go over for second shot

9th par 4 dog leg left, aim just inside big tree on right of fairway, driver not needed if your good hitter

10th: par 4 very short but tricky, get to right of fairway again anything to 130 is perfect just be right, green quicker than looks

11th par 4: aim off tee is front door of house, green is lethal, anything coming in hard will not hold, bunkers at back and right, landing it short is a must and green a bitch enjoy

12th: par 3 bunkers on left of green, fall off on right , must hit green to have any chance of par

13th: par 5 good birdie chance, more right you go off tee the more you open hole but too far right and your ob , not hard hole though

14th: par 4 and best hole on course, tough driving hole ob on right and crap on left, your line is inside bunkers on right, you need to be passed the corner if taking tight line on left, great hole poor green

15th: par 3, garden hole inside orchard, dream to look at bitch to play, do not go long over wall it's ob, but enjoy bunkers all around

16th par 4 dog leg right , driver too big, get to the White steak on left of fairway opens hole up , if taking right hand line needs to be big enough to pass the big trees, everything falls off to the left up around green so stay well right on approach shot, tricky green

17th: par 4 drive is key long hole, right has ob so up middle is ideal, long second in and green surrounded by bunkers, enjoy

18th: par 3 all ahead of you, surrounding bunkers, left of pin playing back up hill is ideal

    Hope this helps, enjoy

    Buachill thank you kindly sir.

As a fader of the golf ball it seems for the most part this course is nicely setup for me.

Now all it will take is a big of study and then I can take the money off my playing partners :D:D

    .

Just home not so long after playing. Dtoffee I also loved the fact the par 3's wrent 200 yard slogs. Played the 4 of them in 2 under gross. Not bad for a 19 handicapper and I won closest to the hole on the garden hole 51 cm from the pin :D:D

Fantastic track in great condition bar 3 greens near the end of the front 9. I believe these are the new greens and there a bit patchy but apart from that very good.

Will be back to play it again sooner rather than later.

Buachill thanks for the shot saver reallt helped didnt heed the advice on the 11th enough though thats one impossible approach shot !!!

Glad you liked it, you plate the par 3's exceptionally well so they might not be that long but they are far from easy.

Yeah the approach shot on 11 is very unfair as good shoots can be punished also but that hole doesn't have much else to it.

What was your favourite hole ?

As it happens, I am down there tomorrow having got an invite from a friend who is a member there ....... really looking forward to it.

Well done DP30, thats no mean feat on the par threes especially when you consider the third is a good hit and a lot of carry before you start thinking of the O/B on the right !!

My fav hole: prob the 12th ..... its all risk n reward, theres no easy option. Holes like that are what makes golf great, NOT the 500 yard monsters beloved of the grip it n rip it brigade.
