just wondering if anyone knows where i can get a fox caller. i did work on a car and the lad had a small little device that had rabbit, crow, magpie, female sika and red deer sound for attracting males on it and was extremely loud
where can you buy these and are they expensive?

(For the record Attracting Deer with Electronics is illegal.)

For Vermin, a Ucaller remote from LR Active, Sportsden, shoot.ie or any good RFD.....

    dodderangler,
I like the wam caller as it avoids repetitious loops, is simple, goes around my neck, and does not need batteries.

I assume you have a mobile. Try downloading some sounds onto it. Do a quick search of the boards as someone posted a site that had a bunch of freebie downloads.

If that poster still has it, perhaps, they would post again.

Look through the TIP's section link above and you get those links to the downloadable sounds.

People mistake a loud caller for being the best, I have calls on the iPhone and if you stand 30yards away you can't here it :( but the hurt cub sounds brings vixens in quicker than me calling. Remember foxes can here alot better than humans, so small squeaks from a mouse can have a fox running. Also you don't want to make really loud calls when u start off in the field because a fox which may be around might get scared and run off. Little squeaks first to see if anything is about then let loose LOL

Just in case you weren't aware of it using electronic callers to attract any protected animal/bird is illegal if you are hunting/shooting them.

If you were photographing them I think it is OK.

Look up the wildlife acts and verse yourself with them before you go hunting.
It will save you a lot of head aches later

The WAM whistle is the job... it gets them that few yards closer!

Just be careful with the wam caller it dints so ****ing easy ,even pin size dint changes the sound.
I prefer the wam to the foxcaller uk, find my self nearly blacking out from blowing it :D

    Hi guys...

Amongst others, I use one of these...

    http://www.bestfoxcall.co.uk

Really effective and louder (if you want it to be!) than the wam...

What you really need when calling foxes is a selection from the trusty back of your hand, wams, widgeon calls, bit of polystyrene on the windscreen... It's always best to try a few different ones - different calls work on different nights...

    Good luck

    Rob
