About to buy 2006 1.8 tdci focus, what to look for?

    Hi guys,

I've been been looking for a nice 05-06 focus for a few weeks now and have finally found one that looks good and is in my price range.

Its the zetec spec and is £3500, though I should get a bit off that price. My only worry about it is that its got 101,000 miles on it, which is a little more that I'd like. What are some things I should look out for with it?

The only other option I've got at the moment it a 2005 1.6 tdci zetec, which only has 64,000 on it but its £3800 (slightly over budget) and the bodywork isn't as nice with a few more little scratches, chips on the bonnet etc etc. Its also seen some harder use on rural roads and to tow trailers and caravans.

Edit: I'd also like to hear any thoughts about getting the car remapped at some stage for a little more grunt

    Thanks

Dual mass flywheels will go every 100k km on these. The worst engine for flywheels. Apart from that they are fairly reliable but that engine has two engine settings on or off.

Thanks, any idea what I'd be roughly looking at to replace flywheels when they go?

Forgot to mention, last service was done at 82,000 in late '09, so it will probably need a service asap.

About €1000 if you want a clutch fitted too. The clutch has to be removed to replace them.
