The Highly Overrated Poll - Round 3

Third a final folks, next Saturday we'll have the top 9 shows (3 from each round) in a battle royale with the winner being crowned most overrated show (according to Boards.ie members).

I'm bound to miss some juicy titles here, please forgive in advance...i have a feeling Glee will win this round by a large margin (but i'd like to be wrong).

Does anyone rate 'Nikita' besides you Richard? :P

I put in a vote for 'Glee' even though it's clearly going to be the outright winner here.

Vote also for 'Dexter' which has far too many weak seasons to be considered good any more.
'The Vampire Diaries' because nobody who isn't twelve and female rates it anyway...
'Sons of Anarchy' because of the horror that was its third season.

Nikta gets alot of critical praise + based on it's thread here, alot of posters and comments.

Most of the posts are by you I jest. I just didn't think much of the show at all, based on watching the first seven or eight episodes so I voted for it. Didn't think it was bad, just too bland for me.

voted for the big bang theory...can't understand why people like it. jokes aren't funny in it. didn't bother voting for Glee as i haven't watched an episode to judge it on

30 Rock IMO. Obviously has gone massively downhill recently but I never "got" what was so damn hilarious about it in the first place either.

Lost - 33 votes
Sex & The City - 33 votes
Friends - 19 votes
Seinfeld - 18 votes

Rounds 2 results:

Mad Men - 47 votes

Pretty obvious already Glee had earned a spot in the final round.

Rescue Me is so utterly dreadful the fact that has lasted so long makes it a clear winner here.

I voted for Eastbound & Down because it's a comedy that isn't funny.
Gave a Treme a vote as well. It actually isn't that bad but wasn't as good as I thought it would be.

The fact that 2 shows tied for first doesn't really matter. The top 3 were still Lost, Sex & The City and Friends. So Seinfeld shouldn't be in the final.


P.S. I'm bias because I love Seinfeld but what I say is true.

i voted glee, rescue me and east bound and down as i watched at least one season of each and just stopped watching, they got a fair chance and i just never took to them,

never watched friday night lights, damages, moderm family, the good wife, supernatural, sons of anarchy, treme, 30 rock, the borgias, southland, white collar, buffy, and the vampire diaries,

whats the story with the borgias is it actually good, or is it just nobody is watching it,

Better question: Why did you put it on the poll? It can't possibly be over-rated so it's a pointless option. Nobody could willing choose it: I can only assume someone clicked it by mistake.

I'm not sure you can really vote for the likes of Dexter as being Overrated on the basis of it having poor seasons. It would be deemed Overrated if people and critics are highly rating and praising these poor Seasons, but I think there is a general consensus that these poor Seasons of Dexter are infact bad. I'm probably being too PC though

i voted for southland!

when they were advertising the show, one tag i heard was "the best thing since The Wire!"

not a chance. watched the whole fisrt season waiting for it to improve but it didnt.

thats why i said it was overrated.
i only voted for shows that i have watched at least 3 episodes of.

Honestly, when I see a series with a tagline like 'best thing since the Wire!' I treat it as a red flag.

It's like when you pick up a POS movie like 'The Rite' and on it it says 'Hopkins' best performance since Silence of the Lambs!' or some other hyperbolic ****.
