Mr A born 1922 in Ireland, dies in England May 2008, he dies intestate. At this time his nearest relations are 7 cousins, one male, 6 females all in their 80's / 90's. The cousins all live in the US.
September 2008 the male cousin dies, are his family entitled to a share of the estate or is the estate divided between the 6 living female cousins.

If he is domiciled in England and Wales, it would be the intestacy rules of England and Wales that would apply

+1 But if the male cousin in the US was entitled to a 1/7 share of the estate under the English laws of succession, that entitlement would not die with him, it would form part of his estate.

As long as the US male cousin was alive on the day Mr. A died, he is entitled to a share of the estate as one of the next of kin, it doesn't matter if he dies one day or one year after Mr. A.

In the future, just the 'Thanks' button is sufficient. +1 posts just clutter the place up.
