hey guys, i'm not sure if this is the right section to post this but here it goes! i booked 2 flights last night for my parents holidays in august but i just noticed i never entered in their passport numbers anywhere while booking the tickets on ryanair.com

as far as i remember the last time i bought tickets online i had to enter in all the passport numbers of whoever the tickets were for including their names etc so does anyone know if i missed the section for passport numbers or maybe it's not essential anymore?

i have received the conformation e-mail etc so everything is fine on that front!

    thanks in advance

hi, i checked in online for my flight to gran canaria in 2 weeks and it only gave me the outbound boarding pass not the return one does that mean that i have to check in again for the return one?

    Yeah
You can only check in fifteen days ahead

In my experience Ryanair is the only airline that has checked for my passport number, though it doesn't bother me too much, being able to check in 15 days in advance is very nice compared to Aer Lingus's 30 hours in advance.

All the airlines will ask for your passport number if flying to Spain. AL usually have a separate forma and they'll remind you to complete it. Used to be the case anyway.

Had a similar thought this morning :)

I booked flights a few weeks back, since then I have renewed my passport, was worried that when booking tickets I might have used the old passport number, then when checking in I would be using the new passport number...

But then realised you only use passport number when checking in / getting boarding card :)

As far as i know, for travel to Spain you need to submit "Advance Passenger Information".

Maybe you already did this automaticaly when you checked in, but here is a link on the Ryanair website.

    https://www.bookryanair.com/SkySales/FRRetrieveAPIS.aspx?culture=en-gb&lc=en-gb

If you do a google search you might be able to find more about it.

Others simply swipe the machine readable section through a scanner and get the number that way.

thanks a lot mate just did that there. i would never have thought of it! :D

another problem just popped up though, my mam just told me that they won't be bringing bags to check in, they will only have a bag each that they will carry onto the plane. the problem is i already paid the 50 quid each for them both to bring 1 piece of luggage each :L

does anyone know if i can cancel the luggage option on the flights and get refunded the 100 quid? i can't find an e-mail on their site though, only a phone number unfortunately

You can now check-in with Aer Lingus up to 30 days prior to departure using their advance check-in service. You will get both your outward and inward boarding cards. However if your less than 30 hours to your flight you must use the regular web check-in, not sure if you will get your return boarding cards.
