Flying to Amsterdam

Hello just looking for some help and advice from any seasoned travellers out there. This is my situation. Myself and my brother are going to play in the Dutch Open(pitch and putt). A friend who lives over there will pick us up in either Schipol Amsterdam Airport or Weeze Airport. We are going on Fri 12th August morning and returning Sun 14th Aug late evening. We would prefer to fly from Dublin but it's optional if cheaper elsewhere. I've been on the Aer Lingus website and been quoted 698 for the flights for the 2 of us. Very expensive. Just wondering would anybody be able to direct me to a site where I could get a cheaper flight or go a different route perhaps. Thank you very much.

www.skyscanner.ie is yer only man. It gets prices off ebookers, travelocity, expedia, kayak as well as the airlines own sites and then leads you to that site directly to book. You can adjust it then for indirect flights and non stop and you can adjust to get the cheapest option on it.

Bear i mind if you fly to London or get the Boat and train there you can get the Eurostar directly to Amsterdam now. Be warned though the Eurostar can be very airline like when it comes to prices and flexibility.

Aer Lingus is the only airline flying direct Dublin-Amsterdam - you'll have to try alternative airports or go via London or another airports.

Thanks Danny. I think I have it sorted. I'm going to fly to Brussels on Fri morning and arrive back Mon morning at 7.30 am. Flights about 109 euro each. Train to Nigmegen is about 15 euro. Sounds good.

EI would of be cheeper if you booked 6 - 8 weeks before travel.

Yes. I was not too sure if I could make it this year. I paid 127 euro last year for the flight by booking early. If only.........

They know people booking at short notice are most likely going on business or have to travel for some reason and have no choice. Not fair but they have you by the .......!!
