i bought a pair of pvc waders a few days back. Problem is, the absoultely stink of petrol or kerosene. I was in the river and thought there had been a petrol spill but turns out it was the waders. Very stomach churning. Does anyone have any hints or tips to get rid of the smell? Been searching on the net but cant get anything.

Shoulda held out and bought neoprene ones.

The smell is probably some chemical residue left after the manufacturing process.

Try washing them with a mix of Vinegar and Bi-Carb Soda in hot water water. Don't use too much vinegar though as it might dry them out.

When dry sprinkle some more soda in them it will help absorb the odour.

If that doesn't work repeat but use vanilla essence instead of vinegar.

    Give 'em a good soak.
