Hey Guys, I have a couple of questions. Before I start I should say I sometimes get a sore back cycling, though the bike i had was too big. As a result, I do like to be somewhat comfortable.

I am using the bike for commuting and short (30 to 60km) spins.

I had the option of getting one of the following bikes €660:

    Z100_WHT_2011_INT_SMALL.jpg
    http://www.feltbicycles.com/Ireland/2011/Road/Z-Series/Z100.aspx

    Pros:
    I like the colour better.
    Supposed to be more comfortable.

    Cons:
    Its a triple.
    Its heavier.

    or:

    F95_SIL_2011_SMALL(1).jpg
    http://www.feltbicycles.com/Ireland/2011/Road/F-Series/F95.aspx

    Pros:
    Its half a kilo lighter.
I prefer to double to the triple (don't think i need to extra gears, and i think it will be easier to maintain.) It's a lower number, and therefore better. right?
    Better rear Derailleur (Tiagra)

    Cons:
    Supposed to be less comfortable.
I prefer the colour of the other one.

Any advice is appreciated. Also for both bikes I am in the middle of two frame sizes. Am I better going for the bigger one or the smaller one? I tried the bigger size on the z100 and it seemed decent.

I ride a Z frame as my commuter and find the goemetry very relaxed (no aches & pains) and a joy to ride. On the other hand is my road warrior with race geometry & find on climbs and the last few K of my spin I get a slight twinge in the lower back (still tweaking my setup to sort out). Seems like you are doing your best to justify the impending purchase of the better specced F95. Me not too keen on the 2011 F95 colour scheme or you could hold out for either next years range or clearance of this years range at a discount & go a model up for similar yo-yo's.

You're right, I am trying to justify the f95! I ned it soon so can;t wait for new colors, but just wondering if the ride difference will be that massive? Will I be sitting i a very aggressive / uncomfortable position for the sake of specs that i like a bit more?

F95 has a quite a light frame at 1.4kg good base to upgrade on, personally I prefer the forks and integrated headset of the F95

Also I can't imagine you'll notice the difference in ride quality if you don't have both

Well, I'll notice if one gives me a sore back and the other does't!

I am swinging towards the f95. The color isn't that important, and it looks pretty slick anyway. (the z100 white looks amazing though, think i just like matte colors!).

Well I am thinking the f95 now. If I get the bike size right, then it shouldn't cause be trouble.

I would love to hear how the F95 turns out. I am looking at the Z100 and F95 right now also. I ride 15-30 miles in the morning on a mt bike set up for the road. The area I ride is pretty hilly and I face good winds at times. I am not racing anyone but I would like to get more miles in less time. I looked at both models at the bike store and the F95 looks slick. The guy working there was telling me the F95 was the way to go but then they didn't have the Z100 in my size and they are trying to clear the 2011s out to get ready for the 2012s. So once again I would love to hear how it works out for you. If it is good for long distance, comfortable, etc... Thanks

Hey levi, its a really nice bike, quite an aggressive riding position. I'd be inclined to get the smaller size if i was purchasing again. The shifters feel kind of cheap and **** though.
