Quick question. Herself is after getting a job recently and was given a 6 month contract which will be transferred onto a longer contract at the end of the 6 months (hired to replace a girl on leave, and will be replacing someone who is leaving after Christmas). She wants to get a small loan of €5,000 and is an Ulster Bank customer but they refused as she needs to work at least six months before they will consider it. Shes on about €1,000 a month.

I assume to be considered by any other bank she would need to be a customer of theirs? She was with AIB but left them.

    No not really.

They will have the same strict critiria for loans. Credit union may be the better option.
