Belgian White?

I haven't come across this in Ireland (albeit I haven't looked very hard) but it was very popular state side. I'm wondering is there anything that tastes similar to this or if there is another name for a Belgian white over here? Doesn't have to be the same brand or anything, just a similar pale ale of some sort

Blue Moon is available, you can find it in a lot of off licenses that sell craft beer and I think Dunnes might sell it.

As far as "Belgian White" ales go it is a really, really poor example of one, if you'd even call it that. I had one about a year ago and struggled to finish the bottle (which rarely happens with me).

Hoegaarden is more widely available and a much better alternative. You can find it in Tesco and most decent off licenses as well as a few pubs now. And if you buy it in a pub and it's served with a slice of lime or lemon you're allowed to launch the offending fruit back at the bartender as well.

I liked Blue Moon, wouldn't mind buying a few bottles of it but never had it out of the bottle before only on tap. Had it with an orange slice and thought it made it nicer tbh but as you can see I'm not exactly a connoisseur. I've seen Hoegaarden everywhere alright, the penny never dropped that it was similar. Must pick up a few bottles of that, thanks for the info :) If anyone else wants to pipe in with some options/opinions then do :D

St Bernardus Wit is very good if you can find it - Redmonds usually have it, maybe some of the other beer specialists.

There is nothing wrong with a slice of lemon in your witbier and it would routinely be served that way in Belgium, I think. Hoegaarden already has a certain lemony flavor so it might be gilding the lily a bit in that case.

I was being a bit over dramatic about it but lemon kills the head in it and adds extra lemon taste, which takes away from the rest of the beer.
