Played Bellewstown in a society outing a few weeks ago. Some very nice holes - I particularly enjoyed the 2 downhill par 3s. Quite forgiving as the trees are still a bit young. I found the greens to be in good condition but incredibly flat, with no breaks in the putts from any angles.
There are some great views from the course as it's one of the highest points in North Leinster, I believe. Played it with a buggy, which I'd say is almost a necessity as it's quite hilly. Overall, it was quite enjoyable.

Am a member there glad you enjoyed it, greens have been in good condition this year and are reasonably flat until they stick the pins in the medal positions and then there are a few breaks. There are a lot of cheap green fees mid week as low as 10/15 euro some mornings and there is a open every Wednesday if anyone else is interested, also there are green fees available every Saturday and Sunday from around 10. None of the members use a buggy its not as bad as it looks first 2 holes are up hill and the 9th and 18th the rest are either flat or down hill.

Surprised that you found the greens had no breaks. Almost every green slopes gently from front to back and while you won't see 10 foot breaks on the flatter greens, a few of them have some deceptive slopes in one particular half or another. The 2nd, 3rd, 13th and 14th are all tiered and none just have a simple straight across the green tier like many other courses. Then there's the 18th. Putting across that green from one side to the other will mean a good 20 feet of break or more depending on your line. I hate it! :)

Don't know how fast the greens actually are there but they must be close to 10 on a stimpmeter I would think. They're in the best nick they've been in for ages now bar a few birds looking for worms.

As you say a forgiving course since many holes have little or no trouble to speak of off the tee. The younger trees are starting to grow quickly now and another year or two will see a different feel to the course I would think.

Views on a nice day are quite special - all the way to the Mournes.

Well worth a midweek deal if you've got the time!

I played here last year(for €10!) and really liked the course. There's 3 or 4 maybe bland holes but I found the rest to be challenging enough and gave you something to think about on your tee shot or approach. I was expecting it to be hard work to walk the course but there's only about four holes that are hard on the legs. Hope to play here again soon and would highly recommend it especially at the green fee.
