Protools 9 Student / Academic

    Hi All

    I have been trying for days to find a place in Ireland / Europe that will sell an academic version of Protools 9. The Student version is €250 - provided you can provide proof of registration to a college / educational institution.

    Our student brethern in the USA can easily avail of this 50% discount from Avid. I ordered it already from studica (an online shop) but was told via email a day later that they only deliver to US addresses. Even though their website has dropdowns for any country you like!.

    I can see that it is available on sweetwater also - but fear the same outcome. Has anyone obtained a student copy (identical to the regular copy btw) of PT8 or PT9 - and if so - Where ?!

    Hi,

    Our students here at Poppyhill have had no problem getting student discounts from Studica.com Ask your college representative to email confirmation that you are a registered student. Also go to the Studica Euro website rather than the US site

    Dolphin don't deliver to Ireland anymore. I've bought a lot of gear from them in the past & always found them to be excellent... but I tried to order PT9 (cross grade from LE) last week. Their sales manager came back & said they'd be taken over by another company & were focusing only on the UK market for now. A real shame. He said they hope to expand beyond the UK in the future, but not sure when.

    big bear also do student editions but you'll need a student card. also if you're a student at a digi school you get 40% on your first avid/digi purchase with them (on all products).

    These guys are the best store IMO for student discounts.
