Drove through Durrow this evening and saw loads of ornately bedecked scarecrows in various poses around the town, including one that looks like a Guard hiding behind a pole. Whose idea was that? Looks class :)

Don't know where idea came from but was very entertaining last year.

They got the idea from a similar festival in England. Durrow is a great town for things like this.

She's not too far off with the forecast, plenty warm, if only the sun would come out through all that bloody cloud.

There's a house on the Naas Road, every time I drive past they have their 2 scarecrows in different poses, waving at the traffic going past.... a few weeks ago, they seemed to be both sitting on vespas! Class!

It's the second time they've done it, have to give it to Hugh Sheppard and the Durrow Development Group, they are fantastic for organising so many events!

Yeah it's great for the town and last year was so good I'm sure this year will be brilliant too. Such creativity and thought put into the scarecrows didn't think they could do better than last years but they seem to have. Pity more towns don't have the same community spirit that Durrow residents have.
