    hi

i need to change the timer on the immersion; can anyone recommend a good quality switch, and where to get it, hopefully in the templegue/tallaght area? i don't want a digital one, (unless there's a real good reason why they're better!).

    thanks

Apt are normally the standard immersion timer that people use. Reason for using digital is that it is more accurate and also they normally have alot more time settings as in 5 day/2 day, 7 day, holiday mode etc. Problem is they are nearly twice the price.... N&D electrical in nutgrove would have what you need....There maybe somewhere closer and if you check the suppliers list thread you will see if there is....

Another good reason to use digital is that a lot of them have a battery which keeps the clock running over an hour or so during power cuts, that way you won't have to remember to reset the time. You can even buy digital timers that automatically adjust for summer & winter time.

I use a Sangamo, the clock is deadly accurate, never loses a second over several months, I got it mail order from the UK. It has a very useful feature which is that you can hit the button on the timer and you get 30 minutes of heat, press it twice or three times for 60 and 90 minutes.

I bought two timers recently from a crowd in the UK (tlc-direct.co.uk), and found their prices way cheaper than anything I could find from any place in Dublin, even paying the postage.
