    Hi all.

I'm traveling from Kildare to Galway tomorrow ... hopefully on the 1pm train out of Kildare. I've just looked at irishrail.ie and the online ticket allocation for this train is sold out. Does this mean the entire train is fully booked or will I be likely to be able to get a ticket at the station tomorrow?

I've tried to phone Kildare station and Irish Rail to enquire ... both closed after 18.00 :(

There is at most 3carriages sold out so you may be ok to buy your ticket in Kildare, also some people just reserve their seats without buying tickets if they plan on travelling and many end up not travelling. I would think you should be ok.

You will be able to buy a ticket at the station - it's just the online allocation that is sold out.

How do you do this - reserve a seat without buying a ticket?

Anyone with an annual pass for all services or similar ticket for example can just book a seat reservation if they wish.

It's one of the options when buying.
