Is there such thing as a 2:1 level 7 degree. Was having a discussion with my mate recently and she seems to believe there is. I myself think she is incorrect.

    Answers?? Thanks!

As far as I know, you can have a

1.1 Degree, 2.1 Degree, 2.2 Degree or Pass Degree.

That's for both Ord (lvl 7) and Hons (lvl 8) degrees

Ordinary degrees tend to be awarded like this :

Pass, Merit Lower Division, Merit Upper Division or Distinction.

A 2.1 grade means second class honours grade 1, or upper second class honours and can only be awarded in an honours degree. Since ordinary degrees aren't honours degrees, Merit Upper Division would equate to the marks a 2.1 degree would award but they are on a different level (7 as opposed to 8). Hope that makes sense !!!:)

From my experience of completing an ordinary degree (level 7) in DIT I would agree with this 100%
