    Hi guys,

I have a old laptop (my sisters) that I put a new hard drive and windows 7 ultimate on to.

I have a start up sound when windows opens but no sound any other time.

From what I can tell the driver is working, it is not muted. Now the headphone jack is fairly destroyed. The computer doesn't say there is headphones in.

So how am I getting sound through the speakers on start up.

Any ideas on how to resolve this?

    Thanks.
