Word is that Mo has asked for the pace to be even quicker than that but i think it safe to say regardless he wasnt Mohammed Mourhit's European record. Think alot of people are forgetting T Bekele also i think he will be a factor here also Merga will be looking for revenge for Birmingham.

I also reckon the US record is under threat as the top 3 from US Nationals are in this race along with another sub 13 American

Yeah Rupp is meant to be doing some serious training. Hope it will pay off for him tonight. Farah has not touch the same volume of training yet.

Great last lap for Kiplagat in the 1500, and the boxing match as well, lol

can somebody help? how do you make the BBC red button work? I have BBC, have several red buttons on various remote controls but whatever I push no reaction...
the online streamline gets cut off all the time whereever I go (btw this one is quite good: http://www.fromsportcom.com/c-11.html )

Mo Farah Wins Monaco 5000; Bernard Lagat Sets American Record
The early pace in Friday's 5000 at the Herculis meet in Monaco was a bit slower than the field allegedly wanted, but Farah and Lagat were scorching the last laps, and at the end it was Farah, the distance "find" of 2011, notching another victory in 12:53.11. Lagat, who challenged until the final strides, actually broke his own American record by taking second in 12:53.60. Third went to Kenya's Isaiah Koech in 12:54.18 and fourth to Ethiopia's Imane Merga 12:55.47. It was a tough race for the other Americans. Galen Rupp was knocked down, and Chris Solinsky was in effect forced off the inside lane of the track, seemingly by Merga, and neither man finished. Matt Tegenkamp was 12th in 13:14.75.
