UPC Hard Drive wipe

    This is an unresolved issue
    Firstly i received a note from UPC a couple of weeks ago mentioning a procedure to be carried out for July 5th ,in order to salvage hard drive recordings due to a remote upgrade being performed on the "box".
    I did this and the unit worked and performed fine since.

    THis morning 22nd July at roughly 530- 600am , i heard odd clicking noises coming from the Box and the unit was remotely accessed, with the usually updating noises,LCD displays etc
    When i accessed the box today , all my recordings have now been wiped..gone..90 per cent full
    i had set the timer to record some programmes this morning--they were recorded fine--the box is working fine--but that is all that is there;

    I have called and an engineeer will call out next week-he may or may not be able to recover the lost files--

    Today is the day my billing cycle commences on a monthly basis.
    I pay by paper bill

    There were no drive issues before and after .
    Are there others who have had this issue?

    Why worry? It's a UPC box. Ring them up. If they can't fix it, they will give you a new one.
