Not sure whether I phrased the title properly but just wondering about the best way to answer a question where it says solve for x and you are left with x=(e^5-2)/3

As I understand the value for e is an approximation so is it better to leave the question as is or get the approx value for e^5?

e is an irrational number so you would have to round off to a certain number of decimal places to give an approximate answer. In maths it's generally fine to leave it as you have it there but in the applied sciences you might be required to give an answer in decimal form.
