I know it changes every day, is it likely to get stronger.

I've a similar question actually and didn't want to spam the forum by starting a another thread. Mods, if you feel that I'm hijacking this thread then feel free to move my post to a new thread.

I have euro (about 5k) but I'm living in Australia. Is now a good time to sell my euro for Australian dollars? I know the best time was about 3 years ago when it was almost 2 dollars to every euro as opposed to the 1.3 that it is now but I can't do much about that. Will the Aussie dollar continue to grow against the euro?

Yesterday the Eurozone kind of sorted out some of the problems by giving lower interest rates to countries like Ireland. This led to people being more confident that the Euro would not collapse and it grew stronger because of this.

Its a guess what will happen in the future.

At the weekend the hotel in Giant's Causeway had a notice giving an exchange rate of 75p to the Euro. The official rate was slightly over 87p. I do not think this would encourage tourism!

    nophd08,
No. Now is not a good time to anything with currency.

To be honest, I think I would prefer to hold Stirling than Euros.

The Brits have much less overhead and time on their side.

This one's a gamble. Do you like to play with fire?

Different people have different reasons, but most people I know are looking to change euro to sterling, my father did just that recently, he was not looking for growth as much as he is looking for a safe place for his money!!
