Hey folks, have a problem with my PS3 & want to run it by you folks.

Ok, so firstly my PS3 three was knocked off a shelf in my house & stopped working. I was in the middle of a game when this happened & i paused it, picked up the PS3 & restarted the game. When i went to pause the game again it didn't display the pause menu properly, so i restarted it but it didn't read the disc, nor would it eject it. So firstly, what exactly broken in my PS3, can anyone tell me?

Part two of my problem, I brought it to a company to fix it in Dublin & they charged me €30 just to examine it & they said the normal cost of parts would be €70 euro, for a total repair cost of €100, that's if they could fix it. The company agreed to ringing me before buying the parts in. So they called & said it could be fixed & would they buy the parts. so I said yes. A few days later they rang back to say they couldn't fix & there would be no further charge, they stated it was a main board failure. I went to a second company, this time in Meath, who said they were confident of fixing it, so again I paid a charge to examine the machine, this time €10. They rang me after a few days to state they could fix it for €120 but it would only have an 80 GB hard drive as oppose to 120 GB it originally had or they could fix it with a 120 GB for €190. Deciding it was too much cost, i said to no to the repairs, they informed the machine would not work at all without some repairs. I collect the PS3 awhile later, to be informed by the man in the shop that there was parts missing from it, with them laying blame at the first company. Now can someone tell me, am I being scammed and if yes, by who?

    Thanks for the help :)

Sounds like their trying to repair the PS3 with spare parts from other ps3's that ended up with the YLOD. If I was you m8 I'd get a second hand ps3 from any GAME store & ask about console insurance. Your been messed about by the sound of things & the cost of the repair + your expences = new PS3. & I think its about €40 quid for insurance thats unconditional & valid for 2 years, If you throw the ps3 off your roof GAME will replace it.
