Psp go is generally accepted as a bit of a disaster. Not all psp games will even be released in downloadable form so the full psp catalogue will not be available. And while it is smaller than a standard psp, I get the impression that it's not as comfortable (its a bit cramped). That said, I don't own one so I'm not in a position to give a true opinion.

You're almost better off waiting for the ps vita

Dude, the PSVita is coming in a matter of months why not just wait for it?
Watch the clip below and I'm sure it will change your mind

Okay maybe not that one but if the one below doesn't change your mind you're better off just going with the crummy Go

If you want to pick up a PSP at this late point, I recommend a standard model with a decent sized memory stick so you have access to both the Store and UMDs. If you have one already, you're better off than the Go.

Is the wait time to recieve the 10 free games still ridiculously long for the GO? I heard it used to be about 6 weeks.

I don't think so, I bought a Go last Christmas and once I did what I had to do to register it, they sent me an email within a few days. I think that promotion ended a few weeks ago though, not 100% sure (maybe they extended it again?), but according to this it looks like the final day to claim was August 31st.
