We booked tickets last year for a holiday in 2 weeks time.

At the time one child had no passport so i asked the mother what name will be on the passport.

Today i went to check in on line and print out the boarding cards when i seen a difference in the names.

The name on the passport is "Mark Davids" But the name on the ticket is "Mark Byrne Davids" as the mother told me that the fathers surname would be on the passport as well.

Will i have to get the name changed ?

    Thanks.

Yes you will need to change it as we did with very similar situation. Ring them, you might be on hold for 10 mins but they should change it (for free as the did for us) and you'll get sent another email with correct name listed.

    good luck

    Thanks.

There website say's it's 100 euro to change a name !! We had to change 1 name already as one person dropped out and another filled in.

another 100 euro would be a killer. Lets hope they do it for free... But Ryanair dont normally do things for free

    Thanks.

Use a PDF editor and delete the extra surname off the boarding pass before printing if they won't change it for free.

Do you realise how much serious trouble this could get someone in if it was discovered? And I'm not just talking about with Ryanair. When you go through security they scan your boarding pass as well, and your name appears on screen. The name on the boarding pass and the name in the system have to match exactly. Tampering with a boarding pass is a very serious potential breach of security (in their eyes).

But, yeah if you wanna do it go ahead.

OP, if in doubt, just call Ryanair.

I recently booked a flight in my maiden name but its my married name on my passport. I had to fax in a copy of my marriage certificate and passport and they changed it for €10. If you give them a call and explain the situation, I'm sure they'll be understanding as it's not actually a different person flying.

Most airport security checks scan the boarding pass but don't double check the names so if they see "Mark Bryne Davids" and it should only be "Mark Davids" they'll probably not even notice or care. And then at the gate Ryanair only check that the name on the ticket matches the passport because they're on a strict turnover time and aren't able to scan the boarding passes in.

I know it's worked plenty of times for people, including myself the one time I tried it.

9/10 times they won't even notice - going out from Dublin in any case. I don't know where you're going - what are the airports like on return?

print two boarding passes, one original, one modified. show the original to security, as they don't check the passport, and the other one at the gate, simples. never needed to try this but don't see why it wouldn't work.

Pay to change the name as FR system will still the name which was put on at time of booking. You will not be allowed to board the flight. If you going to Spain you have a bigger chance of getting caught. FR will pass on info at time of booking to Spanish authorities.

I don't believe you can recall it online. You could telephone them, see if they can check it.
